Description

Scientific Name: Chilobrachys dyscolus

Common Names: Asian Smokey Earth Tiger | Burma Chocolate Brown

Not for beginners. The Asian Smokey is another fast growing, super-fast moving old world tarantula species. Being fossorial, it’s unfortunately a pet hole and it will seldom venture outside of it’s burrow, except late at night or when on the prowl for a meal. This species also exists in an .sp Blue variation with a velvety brown to black appearance that has sheens of blue hidden beneath. Males have sexual di-morphism and look completely different to the females after their ultimate molt.

The enclosure setup for Chilobrachys dyscolus should have at least 15 to 20cm of substrate to allow burrowing, as well as your rudimentary water dish.
