Description
Scientific Name: Brachypelma albiceps
Common names: Mexican Golden Red Rump
This is truly a great species that offers it all, good size, great looks, display-ability, is docile and hardy.
The Mexican Golden Red Rump is another great looking Brachypelma species but not often seen in South Africa. The most striking element being the egg-shell colored carapace in the middle of jet black legs and a black abdomen covered in red hairs/setae. Striking as they may be, they are a docile and calm species that will at most flick urticating bristles when feeling threatened.
You can also expect your Brachypelma albiceps to be visible most of the time because they are not a shy species and will happily spend the bulk of their time out in the open for you and your guests to see.
Slings dont’ come around often and are usually pricey so it’s a good idea to get your hands on some of these when you can.
