WHERE WE SHIP
We ship all around South Africa, except the Western Cape and any provinces that declare it illegal to keep or transport exotic creatures. Please check with your local authority before placing an order.
We do not export or ship internationally.
We have these main options for shipping at checkout:
To-Door – Gauteng Main Cities (1 to 2 days) : This includes all main cities in the Gauteng area, like Johannesburg, Pretoria, Vaal , Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, Westonaria, Brits, Hartebeestoort.
To Door – Outlying & Coastal Cities (1 to 2 days): Due to extra surcharges by our couriers, this cost is slightly higher and is for irregular routes, outlying cities and towns like Phalaborwa, Bloemfontein, Hoedspruit, Bronkhorstspruit, Pofadder, Tweebuffelsmeteenskootmorsdoodgeskietfontein, etc. If you are not sure, please get in touch with us before placing your order.
Postnet to Postnet (2 to 3 days) : We can send parcels to any Postnet nationwide, 2 to 3 day waiting period.
All parcels are packaged to fit inside a regular Plastic Courier Flyer Bag in order to meet the above pricing requirements by our couriers. Any orders to big for these courier bags will require a custom quotation and we will contact the customer in question with regards to their order and any unique shipping pricing or arrangements that may be required.
If the cost of shipping to your location exceeds any of our shipping options, we will contact you to settle the difference before shipping your order. Unfortunately an affordable fully integrated and accurate shipping system for e-commerce websites as small as ours is not yet available in South Africa and creates shipping cost hassles for us and our customers. We apologise for this inconvenience should it occur.
At mymonsters.co.za, we do our very best to use packaging that will ensure the safe arrival of all orders to their destinations. We make use of various packaging and stuffing materials to maintain humidity and air flow for any products or creatures during transportation. Products and/or accessories are also provided either in their original packaging or may be removed from their original packaging in order to fit inside our package to the customer.
mymonsters.co.za makes use of various shipping and courier services in order to deliver products ordered by our customers around the country. Our main Courier service provider is The Courier Guy and together we are able to ship to almost any city in South Africa. Orders are usually packed for collection in the afternoon and should arrive over night, except in distant locations where it may take 2 or 3 days to arrive at most.
Orders placed on Friday, during weekends or official public holidays will be shipped the first following business day or a day where no further delays will impede quick and safe delivery.
PLEASE NOTE: During excessive hot or colds spells by the weather, if mymonsters.co.za considers the weather to be a danger to any shipped creatures, mymonsters.co.za may withhold an order at it’s own discretion until we consider it safe for the order to be shipped. This will be communicated at our earliest convenience to the client via the online ordering system, email or sms at our discretion.
Please note that shipments cannot be delivered to post box addresses. We can only ship to a proper physical address like a physical company or home address.
Shipping creatures and products will always carry risk on the side of the sender and the receiver. Mymonsters.co.za nor any of it’s service providers can 100% guarantee that creatures will arrive at their destination safely, unharmed and in good health. In order to get parcels around the country as fast as possible, couriers use various methods of transport like cars, trucks, trains and aeroplanes via hundreds of pairs of hands in order to get the parcels to their destinations on time. Covering these long distances brings the risk of creatures suffering at the hands of these main threats; cold, heat, dehydration and/or a destroyed parcel.
By purchasing anything from this website, the customer/buyer agrees, acknowledges and accepts 50% of the above risks.
Once an order is placed, confirmed and payment has been received, a collection is booked with the courier, who will then supply us with a tracking reference code that will be sent to the customer via the mymonsters.co.za website ordering system, or via direct email or sms at our discretion.
Tarantulas/Creatures: TAKE CAREFUL NOTE that mymonsters.co.za will not accept returns of any kind on any creatures whatsoever. The mymonsters.co.za website & shopping system works seamlessly and intuitively to allow you as the customer or buyer to select, choose, and edit your orders before placing them and returns will not be accepted. However, mymonsters.co.za may offer to buy the item back at our own discretion at a price that will negate re-shipping and re-sale of the item. Also, we have no control over the way customers might package or re-package a creature for long distance shipping back to us and unfortunately we can not and will not accept that risk.
Other products and accessories: Unless in the case of an accessory or product that has malfunctioned or is not working as intended, mymonsters.co.za will not accept returns on items that were ordered correctly or incorrectly via the online store. Once again. Our online shopping system works seamlessly and intuitively to allow you as the customer or buyer to select, choose, and edit your orders before placing them. Please consider your orders with care and feel free to get in contact for any help or advice before making a purchase.
For any other items that may be faulty due to bad workmanship or poor quality etc., please do not hesitate to contact us so we can investigate a refund or replacement for you.
REPLACEMENT & CLAIMS POLICY
Glass and breakable products: mymonsters.co.za can not and will not accept any claims or returns on glass and breakable products shipped via a courier or third party delivery service. Glass or breakable products that have failed due to bad workmanship or poor quality will be replaced and shipped to the customer at mymonsters.co.za’s cost.
D.O.A (Dead On Arrival)
In the case where a parcel arrives and the creature we have shipped to the customer has died during transit, this is called a D.O.A.
In a D.O.A. case where a creature has died during transit, mymonsters.co.za will once per shipped order, consider crediting the customer 50% of the price of the creature/s in question.
To claim, mymonsters.co.za requires that the customer sends us a dated photo of the unfortunate creature/s in the original packaging from mymonsters.co.za, along with a request for replacement.
If mymonsters.co.za accepts the replacement claim request at it’s own discretion, we will credit the customer 50% of the original purchase price of the creature/s in question.
If a replacement is approved by mymonsters.co.za, the customer is required to pay the remaining 50% value of the replacement, after which the replacement will be sent to the customer again via courier at mymonsters.co.za’s cost.
Credit amounts for replacements will not be paid back to the customer directly in any way or form and will only be discounted from the customer’s next purchase via discount coupon code that will be supplied to the customer for use on their next order.
We are prepared to replace a creature that has died in transit as long as the cause of the of the death is due to poor packaging or handling by us or a courier service we have used. But in a case where deliveries do not go as planned due to matters out of our control, i.e., national strikes, political / public unrest, acts of God, severe weather and other causes that are totally out of our control, we can not be held liable for any loss whatsoever.
